1. Toothy Fairy - by Adrian Michaels

This is the tooth fairy when she got old. Although she doesn't just take teeth that children have already lost anymore, as witnessed by the pliers...

2. Aoife - by Neil Blue

She squatted above the child's bed with noose in hand, ready to lower it over the girl's head once she had settled down to sleep clasping the small tooth in a velvet bag under her pillow. Aoife remembered when she had been a girl with such a bright future, singled out for magical future by the foreseeing members of the Seelie court. The attention of the Seelie court however ensured that she was singled out all right, but not for a bright future. In retaliation over a welched deal over access to an arcane site, Unseelie pirates had decided to take Aoife out of reach of the foreseers. They took her away from her luxurious home during the night, keeping her in a damp water barrel for three weeks. Her mother and father went mad with despair, her father turned to drink and her mother walked into the sea after failing to come to terms with her loss after 15 years. The pirates taunted the foreseers with their prize, but after Aoife turned 6 years old, the Seelie lost interest and no longer made any attempt to recover Aoife from the pirates. During her year of captivity Aoife grew to understand and eventually to relate to her captives, and resented the foreseers for not trying to secure her, as they moved on to a new hope. As Aoife got older, she learnt the ways of the Unseelie band, taking child hostages in return for gold, knowledge and magic. After having fashioned wings from various mementos from hostages and victims, she extorted enough magic from blackmailed fae to also give her the power of flight. Now she just needed two more blackmailed wishes and she would be set to take full revenge on the Seelie who lost interest in a small girl with a bright future, nearly 130 years ago...

She's made from green stuff and ProCreate and the wings are detachable- hence the yellow putty holding them on..

4. Selkie - by Andrew Rae

As a native Orcadian I felt it was almost compulsory that I sculpt a Selkie..
She has just emerged from the sea, clutching her skin. And a large rock to smash the skull of the fisherman who loved her and left her. Don't know if that's in the legends but hey.
The seal skin is more textured than a real skin would be but I felt it was neccessary to show that it was fur and not her curtains..

6. ?"Fairy"? - by Victoria Lamb

This was inspired by the competition rules themselves (quote) "Don't think cutesy 'Fairy' with wings and that - its just a victorian romanticism. Think gnarly fay, beautiful and contemptously enigmatic or twisted and malevolent." So I thought I'd have a go at a miniature that combined the two. Also a play on the word "fairy". I imagine he would fit the "air" element.
For casting the wings and left arm detach. He is 29mm to the top of his head.

8. LoonWoman - by Bronwyn Frazier

She is called Loon Woman or "She who becomes loon". She is based on the Native American stories of a jealous and vengeful woman who beat and burned her victims.

It is 28 mm tall and made from magic sculpt epoxy resin.
